Disappearing
dimensions, non-sense, caleidoscopes, compressed depth, almost illogical
and unbearable images, these are the qualities of Claudio Pollini’s
works in this exhibition, “Ultrapressions”. The very title which has
been chosen by the author, represents the code that he uses to
understand and express interpretations and images, which have been
absorbed and elaborated over ten years’ time in his travels through
four different continents and by his sharp capacity of observation.
These images force us to make a deep reflection in the attempt to catch
their meaning, and show us how the ordinary setting
in its casual and natural semplicity of interpretation, is in
fact originated by very complex and random scenographies as well as
magical tricks of refraction and inversions, dilation and compression,
obvious and amazing. They are actually visual syncopes that Pollini is
ready to catch, hiding them in his glimpse of what is true and real. He
seems to be cheating in a sort of game of his own, but in the end we
know for sure he is not allowed to.
